Beliefs I hold as a mother + doula.

Your birth experience matters.

Every woman deserves to birth on her own terms, in the place where she feels safest and most supported- without judgment or fear. Birth should be empowering, informed, and joyful, with every choice respected. By surrounding yourself with a dedicated birth team focused entirely on your experience, you gain confidence and clarity in the decisions that shape this life-changing moment. My mission is to help elevate the standards women hold for their own births, so every birth can be as extraordinary as it deserves to be.

YOU are the expert of YOUR body and baby.

You are the expert on what feels safe, right, and best for you and your baby. Never underestimate the power of your maternal instincts. While I can’t make decisions for you, I will always speak up for you and honor the choices you make.

Birth, in all its forms, can be empowering and transformative.

The beauty of birth lies in its diversity- both in the process itself and in the people experiencing it. Empowerment looks different for everyone, shaped by unique perspectives, experiences, and choices. Some women find strength in the intensity of birth and the knowledge that their bodies are perfectly designed for this journey. Others feel empowered through the guidance of modern medicine and trusted providers, finding safety and control in informed support. By understanding your birth process and weighing the risks and benefits of your options, you can feel confident that the choices you make are the right ones for you. Birth doesn’t have to be frightening- it is a profound rite of passage, a joyful welcome for both mother and baby.

The fourth trimester is a continuation of your rebirth.

In the first few days postpartum, your hormones shift dramatically- from supporting the growth of life to sustaining it through milk production and physical healing. Your womb is recovering, and every part of your body is finding its place again after the space your baby once lived. Oxytocin is abundant, supporting bonding and repair, but this is a time when prioritizing rest, nourishment, and gentle bodywork is essential. Caring for yourself now lays the foundation for long-term health, well-being, and resilience.

Motherhood truly does take a village.

The placenta is beautifully designed with two layers of support, protecting both you and your baby. In the same way, the fourth trimester calls for a strong support system for your entire family. Prioritizing rest, nourishment, and healing in these early weeks truly requires a village. I would be honored to be part of that supportive community for you.

Get to Know Me

I’m a wife and mother of three, living in the wild and beautiful town of Sooke on Vancouver Island. Much of what moves and inspires me is close to home—my children, my community, and the sacred, ordinary moments of motherhood that fill my days.

My journey into birth work began, quite naturally, through the births of my own children. Each of their stories was wildly different, and each one opened my eyes to the power of birth in its own way.

When my daughter was born, I walked away physically healthy, but emotionally wounded. The birth felt like something that happened to me—something I was expected to endure and quickly move on from. I was told to be grateful, and for a long time, I believed that was all I could ask for.

But the birth of my son changed everything. I had built trust in my body, learned to advocate for myself, and entered his birth with a sense of strength I hadn’t known before. I finally felt what birth could be: intense, joyful, and wildly empowering. That experience planted the seed of my calling—I knew I wanted to help other women feel seen, supported, and strong in their own births.

And then came Goldie—my third baby, and my first unmedicated birth. Her birth was pure redemption. It was calm, primal, and holy. I felt fully present, fully powerful, and surrounded by unwavering support. Goldie’s birth reminded me that birth is not just a means to an end, but a transformative rite of passage. It sealed in me a deep reverence for the female body, for undisturbed birth, and for the incredible wisdom written into every contraction, every breath, every moment.

Since her birth, my standards for birth support have only grown higher. I’ve continued to study and surround myself with wise women, learning all I can about physiological birth, the design God has written into our bodies, and how to protect the sacredness of this journey for others.

Today, I’m honoured to walk alongside women as a doula—supporting them as they prepare for their own birth experiences with confidence, clarity, and trust.

Together with a few beloved women, I’ve co-founded The Birthkeepers Collective. We offer wholehearted support to families across the Greater Victoria area, walking with them from pregnancy through postpartum. We’re passionate about informed choice, safe spaces, and helping every woman feel respected and rooted as she brings new life into the world.

If you’re preparing for birth or motherhood and feel drawn to connect, I’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re looking for guidance, encouragement, or someone to hold space, I’m here. It’s the greatest privilege to do this work, and I’d be honoured to walk this path with you.
